G2KR divers are kicking off the 2024 kelp restoration season with a new project: underwater photography of proposed restoration dive sites.
As culling urchins is no longer permitted at Tanker’s Reef, this initiative aims to document reef changes through photography and create a visual reference for the ecosystem's health. Volunteer divers, SUP paddlers, and kayakers are encouraged to take photos, record videos, and upload GPS tracks to a website. This collective effort will help inform decision-makers and advocate for the resumption of kelp restoration activities.
Join us for an evening of conservation, community, and creativity. Meet like-minded volunteers, enjoy snacks and drinks, and be part of an important cause. Admission and parking are free.
